Why did you create this service?

MySpace is in the news a lot - and a lot of the times for bad reasons. In the summer of 2007, over 29,000 profiles of registered sex offenders were removed from the MySpace website. It is also not uncommon to hear stories in the news about online predators luring children through MySpace. We created this service to help parents be aware of what information their children are making visible on their MySpace profile. We envisioned a service that is easy to use, affordable, and effectively gets the job done.

So, how will it help me?

It's hard to remember and find the time to periodically review your children's MySpace profiles. The SaferSpace.NET Monitoring Service will let you monitor up to ten MySpace profiles automatically. Our computers will visit the profiles you specify daily and provide you with the following information:

Does the MySpace profile contain possibily inappropriate content?

Cached versions of the user's MySpace profile for 30 days. This means you will be able to view the user's MySpace profile as it appeared up to 30 days ago. Even if the user removes something from their profile you will still have a record of it.

If a MySpace profile is marked as private will I be able to monitor it?

The full profile will not be able to be monitored. You will, however, be able to monitor the user's profile picture, login history, and status updates. If your child has set their profile to be private then this is a big first step in protecting themselves from strangers online.
